Johnson drives in four as Roadsters roll past Mobiles, 11-3
Roark wins second consecutive start; Modesto stays perfect at 7-0 in the second half!

The Modesto Roadsters won their seventh consecutive game with an 11-3 victory over the RedPocket Mobiles on Tuesday night at Modern Woodmen Field. Osiris Johnson went 4-for-5 with four RBIs, and Ethan Roark delivered six innings in his second career start to remain undefeated as a starting pitcher. The Roadsters improve to 7-0 in the second half and remain tied atop the Pioneer Baseball League standings.
Modesto built the early lead in the second inning when Lucas Terilli lined a two-run single to left to score Leiker Figueroa and Hayden Dunhurst, and Johnson followed with an RBI single to make it 3-0. RedPocket pulled within one in the fourth on Justin Johnson's two-run single to right, but Osiris Johnson answered in the bottom half with a run-scoring single to push the lead back to two. Max Handron and Johnson delivered back-to-back RBI doubles in the sixth to make it 6-2, and after Efrain Manzo's RBI single brought RedPocket within three in the eighth, Modesto put the game away with five runs in the bottom half on Johnson's fourth RBI of the night, a Tyler Williams RBI groundout, Dunhurst's two-run single, and an RBI single from Figueroa.
Ethan Roark (W, 2-0) allowed two runs on four hits over six innings with four strikeouts on 89 pitches. Johan Castillo struck out two in a perfect seventh, and Blake Smith and Cole Tremain finished off the win as Modesto played errorless defense. Agnel Miranda (L, 2-3) struck out 11 over 5.2 innings for RedPocket but allowed six runs on ten hits. Johnson finished 4-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, and four RBIs, Handron reached base five times with two hits and three walks, and Figueroa went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base from the nine spot. Braylon Bishop collected two hits and a stolen base for the Mobiles.
Modesto continues the three-game series against RedPocket on Wednesday night at Modern Woodmen Field, with first pitch at 7:11 PM. The series concludes Thursday at 7:11 PM before Modesto travels to Marysville for a weekend set against the Yuba-Sutter Freebirds. Tickets are available at modestoroadsters.com.
